Iphone 3G版已经支持ActiveSync，把其作为数据交换的一种服务。

在微软Teamblog上， Adam Glick, 微软标准通讯组的一位技术经理, 也强调了iphone对ActiveSync的支持:

“If you’ve not heard; Apple released iPhone 2.0 today which includes a software update to the existing iPhones in the market (yes, we mentioned it when it was announced as well).  We’re thrilled to add them to the family of Exchange ActiveSync licensees that enable all sorts of devices to connect to Exchange Server.”

苹果获得微软ActiveSync的授权已经一年多了，但直到2008年3月，Apple才对外正式确认，ActiveSync,微软对它的解释是： “is a data synchronization service that enables mobile users to access their e-mail, calendar, and contacts and retain access to this information while they are offline.”

谈起微软和iphone， 微软是不会想为iphone提供一款新应用程序，让iphone更加具有竞争力的，特别是这个星期，iphone3G的面世. 微软只会说在WM平台上有18,000 Windows Mobile的软件可供用户使用，而 iphone只有500 个。

同时，第一款WM7手机预计也会支持multi-touch（多点响应）,并且在2009年的第一季度会正式亮相。
